Anyone with any scrap of Internet Marketing knowledge has heard of Google Adsense. As the Grand-daddy of pay-per-click (also known as PPC) advertising, Adsense has gained a position in the internet marketing world that it richly deserves. Simplistic, effective and useful; it is a system that works for many, and creates careers and opportunities online that most people had never imagined. 

However, Adsense is fairly strict. Its terms and conditions dictate that their advertising should not be used on certain types of sites. This includes, but is not limited to; adult or pornographic sites, MP3 or movie download sites, file sharing sites, Warez sites and gambling sites. Basically, anything that is a little risqué. 

This creates a problem. The above niches, if done right, can be extremely financially beneficial to the savvy Internet Marketer. The adult niche is one of the most profitable in the IM world, but you need to know how to monetize an adult website. You can't use the internet marketer's savior, Adsense, so what do you use? 

Thankfully, there are viable Google Adsense alternatives out there; companies that offer the same system of PPC advertising, but with slightly more open rules and regulations laid out in their terms and conditions. Sites like Adbrite, Bidvertiser and the Yahoo version of Adsense all offer the same service as Adsense - and in some cases, they even pay better on popular niches even outside of the risqué side of things. 

It is worth investigating and experimenting with these Google Adsense alternatives. For a week, use a different PPC company where you would usually use Adsense and monitor the difference. For adult and other such sites, investigate thoroughly and read terms and conditions until you find a PPC company that will accept your site. The Adsense alternatives exist; so it's up to you to see if you can make them work.
