Howdy, Partner!

There are all sorts of sayings and lyrics which underline the importance of teamwork. But for one moment, just focus on the meaning of the word “team”. Let’s look at one definition of that – a sports team. A soccer team, for example, can have extremely gifted outfield players but if their goalkeeper is bad they will lose close games – because they will give away preventable goals. It can be seen, then, that a mix of skills is sometimes necessary to succeed. This can be true of websites as much as anything else.

This is why it might be beneficial to look for ways that you can collaborate with other webmasters when you are looking for more traffic. Consider, for example, if you are asked about a subject you cannot claim to be an expert in. If you are stuck for an answer, it may be advisable to ask someone else and report back – or you could let the expert do it themselves by offering them a platform on your site. This shows that you are someone who is prepared to admit that you don’t know everything, but is willing to do what they can to please or help a reader.

The added advantage of this is that you build a working relationship with the person who you have given space to. In doing so, you have broadened the expertise of your site, and have given the guest a welcome opportunity to publicize their site – something they will gladly mention on their own site, while throwing in a link to the article in question and to your site in general.
